“Murder Charge”
Auckland, 22 May – A 29 year-old man from Manurewa will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow charged with murder following the death of a woman who was allegedly attacked at a learning institute on Auckland’s Queen St earlier today. A 22 year-old man is in Auckland Hospital suffering serious injuries sustained during the attack.
Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Newman said the woman’s body has been removed from the scene and a post-mortem examination is scheduled to get under-way tomorrow. We are working through the process of formal identification and contacting her family. Once the proper processes have been carried out we will be able to release her name but, in the meantime, we urge media and friends to consider the families at the centre of this tragic event when reporting on it.
